DRC: “mines are exhaustible and now we must go to the processing sector” (Albert Yuma)

Albert Yuma Mulimbi, National President of the Federation of Enterprises of Congo (FEC) called on both economic and political operators to understand the importance of investing in agro-industry since, he argued, we should not remember that mines are exhaustible.

“We asked our members to have two impactful projects for the province for which the FEC, accompanied by certain donors, would provide funding by insisting on agro-industrial projects, because people need to learn that mines are exhaustible and we must now go into the processing sector, especially since our country has signed the African free trade zone agreement. We must have products to sell and to trade, “said Albert. Yuma Mulimbi, President of the FEC, after the audience granted on Monday by the Vice-Governor of Haut Katanga, Jean Claude Kamfwa Kimimba.

For Albert Yuma, the FEC should be involved in the development of economic projects and policies in different provinces of the country.

“We also want the FEC at the national level and in different provinces to participate upstream in the definition of projects and economic policies in the provinces. We want our members to be associated, because we also have local skills, we do not want not that we always give big projects to foreign companies, “he added.

Albert Yuma and his retinue of the FEC are in Haut-Katanga after the Kasai region where they have sensitized the economic operators who are members of the FEC to get involved in agro-industry.
